The Album Launch for Lullabies for Cynics

The launch night for the Lullabies for Cynics album release was a wonderful night with terrific support from Phil Doleman, Astraluna, Sleepy Kev Bishop and special guest Laurent Zeller who flew in from France.

This was a “pay as you feel” event and every attendee was given a special free gift from the banc of the first CD “Adam Blames Eve” as well as “Lullabies for Cynics”. This evening titled “Music for the head and heart” is also a beta tester for a much bigger project. The event was run in conjunction with the Trouble at Mill team which did a superb job in organizing the excellent mill space. Karen Turner took fours hours of photos for the evening which will be used in the bigger project.

Carl Rosamond did a superb job on front of house ensuring that all artists had the best possible sound. There were also a number of special surprises with Laurent Zeller playing a duo with Phil Doleman. Later in Phil’s set Sleepy Kev also provided harmonica. On the Small Change Diaries set Phil Doleman, Laurent Zeller and Kev Bishop all sat in and all these musicians plus Astraluna joined in for the encores of “Not one of us” and “Huggie Crying thing” In short it was a wonderful evening of smart creative music with a terrific stage and superb sound. The event was 100% sold out and the feedback has been excellent. This was deliberately NOT a ukulele event with artists all playing just ukuleles, but an event with many excellent musicians playing a wide range of instruments to give the audience a really excellent sonic experience.

Special thanks to everyone who made this possible and especially to all the musicians who supported each other and created such great entertainment. The bigger project will be announced in 2018, which will take “Music for the head and heart” to a whole new level.
